Inspired by India's rich textile heritage of handcrafted natural products, Shruthi founded Sansita Handlooms in 2010. After volunteering with the Ministry of Textiles for Cluster Development projects for Bangalore rural she decided to set-up Sansita Handlooms with the objective to develop handloom weavers to produce differentiated and unique products, by introducing weaving of natural fibers like Banana, Vettiver, korai grass etc.

Profile of Shruthi Raju

Shruthi Raju, the founder of Sansita, an MSc from University Of Westminister, London, BA from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Outstanding Grade for Economic Honors ST. Josephs evening College. She was elected into the student government in MCC and has recently won the Women of the Future, 2016, FICCI.

She serves on the board of Vyasa International School as Director of Admission/Marketing. She oversees the brand and the very broad educational program the school offers its students. The curriculum at VIS is seen not only to encompass academia but many activities like music, dance, visual and performing arts, leadership, cultural exposure and community outreach which are integral to a student's life.

Shruthi Raju is also the co-founder of Underdog Entertainment and had been involved as a playwright, actor, director, producer and staged over 130 shows across the country. An anti-thesis to the contrived and commercial entertainment Underdog deals with the modern day issues of the youth and appeals to a cross-section of people for being original, fun and relatable.


Vision

Her Vision for Sansita is to create and develop a corporate concept of linked prosperity; the first being product development, the second to run the business on a sound financial basis and third operate the business in a way that actively recognizes the social responsibility by empowering women, nurturing craftsmanship, maximizing natural resources and protecting the environment.
